ARTISAN WINE HOLDER

Concept

This design takes inspiration from the shape of the arc as wine is being poured into a glass and swerves back up from the pressure. This is both a sculptural piece and functional wine holder offering 2 holster space in the central arcs. Also features a small holster for wine openers in the smallest arc of the foot support. ​

Design process

4 layers of 1/4” plywood to bring thickness and depth to the wine holder, preconditioned and stained with 3 layers of pecan color Minwax wood stain, these enhances the aged feel of the wood, complementing the vintage theme of wine. The floral pattern ornamentation laser engraved and rasterized on the surfaces of the wine holder adds to the aesthetic beauty and elegance of a wine holder, acting also as a symbolic reference to days of past when ornamentation was in the trend.
